The Corn Exchange/The Abbey co-production of Lolita, presented in a Commedia dell'Arte style, is a high-energy production of Lolita – one of the most startling, original and controversial stories of our time.
Starring Ruth Negga in her first professional role, Andrew Bennett, David Pearse and Clara Simpson, who won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the Irish Times Theatre Awards.
A sensation when it was published almost fifty years ago, Lolita recounts the passion of Humbert Humbert, a wily European academic, for Lolita, the young daughter of his New England landlady. It trails his desire from state to state in a tragic tale of obsession, betrayal, abuse and murder.
